We now know what it feels like to compete in the amazing race, 8 hours to hong kong, then just enough time to brush your teeth etc., then onto another plane for 13 hours, to London then just enough time to be bussed to the next terminal to fly go Milan . This is a small airport and no one was even interested in checking our bags.
Got to like that, caught a mini bus to town, and found the hotel no worries. The town was almost empty seems they all leave town in august, most of the shops were shut, made getting around easy, only in town for one day to see the painting of the last supper, which was great. But the cathedral they also took us to was spectacular it is called the duomo here is a picture
It is made entirely of marble, the stained glass windows also impressive
Some nice couple asked me to takes their photo, they were Italian little did they know I am hopeless at photography.
Arrived in Venice on the Tuesday boy is it a tourist town, they all speak English so I am not getting to practice my little bit of Italian
Here is Peter and I in a gondola will fill in more details soon
Ciao
