Off to the country

Hi all have left Florence it was lovely but did a lot of walking once again.

Will put some photos up tomorrow night, the village is quaint and the cheese is ( sheep cheese) pecorino is wonderful. Just had wild boar pasta, delicious & panacotta.

The accommodation is very rustic, but in town and has it's own kitchen.

The air is clean and the people are friendly, our host barbara is lovely, and translates everything for us. Off to the local vegetable markets tomorrow then a cooking class I think.

Having a great time this rest in the country is just at we need.

The duomo

This sculpture in the church is of a man with his skin off it is then draped around his shoulders

After we travelled to Venice on the train, getting off the ferry station in the late afternoon we then had to find our accommodation, just to let you know Venice is like a rabbit Warren with some canals thrown in, the bridges are difficult when pulling 24 kilos.

Our hotel

Outside the hotel

Peter relaxing out the back

The main square is st. Marks square usually full of people but we were up early will show you empty then full

This is how they clean the city that's right with brooms made of sticks

By 9am you can hardly see the pavement
